Anthony Mackay AM is President & CEO of the Washington DC based National Center on Education and the Economy. Anthony completed his time as CEO of the Centre for Strategic Education, Melbourne, Australia at the end of 2018. He remains Consultant Advisor to CSE.
Anthony is Co-Chair of the recently launched National Project, Learning Creates Australia.
Anthony is Deputy Chancellor Swinburne University, Melbourne, Board Chair of The Song Room, Board Director of High Resolves Global, Board Director of Schools Plus, Member of the Advisory Board of the Australian College of Educators and Senior Fellow, Graduate School of Education, The University of Melbourne.
Anthony is immediate past Chair of the Australian Council for Educational Research, immediate past Deputy Chair of New Zealand's Education Council and immediate past Board Director of the Innovation Unit UK.
Anthony is an expert consultant to OECD, Senior Fellow IBE UNESCO, Council Member of Asia Society’s Center for Global Education, Consultant Advisor to Asia Society's Global Cities Education Network, Co-Chair Global Education Leaders Partnership, International Advisor to Learning Forward (USA) and Advisory Board Member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
Anthony is moderator of the annual International Summit on the Teaching Profession and the Annual Global Education Industry Summit. He was Inaugural Chair of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership and the Inaugural Deputy Chair of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority. He is a Past President of the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement and of the Australian Curriculum Studies Association. Anthony is Patron of the Australian Alliance of Associations in Education (AAAE).
